About our client

Our client is a well-established private owner, operator and developer of retirement communities across New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. They offer independent living alongside in-home support and on-site care, and they're growing, with new communities in development.

They're looking for an experienced cook to join the team at their Albury village on a casual basis.

The role

You'll be the village's in-house cook, preparing nutritious, positive-quality meals for residents. You'll report to the Village Manager.

- Planning and cooking daily meals, including for residents with special dietary needs
- Helping with stocktakes, food orders and costing
- Keeping to food handling and health and safety requirements
- Catering for events and functions within the village
- Respecting resident privacy and confidentiality

Hours

- Every second Saturday and Sunday, 10am–2pm
- Every second Wednesday, 10am–6.30pm
- Extra shifts are available to cover leave





What you'll need

- Experience in a similar role, ideally in aged care, retirement living or healthcare catering
- Experience preparing meals for elderly residents with special dietary needs
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or other formal chef/cook training
- A current Food Handling Certificate
- A National Police Check, First Aid and CPR (or the ability to get them)
- Good availability across weekdays and weekends (weekends are essential)
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
