About the role

LOT 101 is a working farm and heritage estate on 600 acres of the Megalong Valley, two hours from Sydney. One family, one stretch of land — a restaurant, tea rooms, cottages and a farm gate.

We're looking for an experienced barista to own the coffee machine at the iconic Megalong Valley Tea Rooms through our busiest days. Tucked away in the valley, the Tea Rooms draw locals, day-trippers, walkers and weekend crowds — and peak periods get very busy. You'll be the person who keeps quality high when the docket rail is full. This is a casual role with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours a week, built around Friday to Monday, with the chance to pick up extra shifts at other peak times.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare consistently excellent espresso-based drinks, plus tea, brewed chai and other hot and cold beverages

- Dial in the grinder at the start of each shift and adjust throughout the day as conditions, humidity and volume change frequently

- Manage high volume during peak periods, keeping ticket times down without dropping quality

- Run an organised station: workflow, milk stock, cups, takeaway supplies and restocking

- Clean and maintain the espresso machine and grinders, including backflushing,



group head and steam wand care, and end-of-day close

- Monitor coffee quality, waste and stock levels, and flag ordering needs

- Work closely with floor staff

- Deliver warm, friendly service and help with front-of-house tasks (orders, register, clearing) when the machine is quiet

- Follow food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures at all times

About you

- Proven experience as a barista in a busy café or high-volume venue

- Confident dialling in espresso: adjusting grind, dose, yield and time by taste, smell, visual inspection alongside times and weight

- Ability to hold speed and consistency under pressure during peak service

- Solid milk texturing and latte art for a range of milks, including alternatives

- Good knowledge of machine and grinder care and cleaning routines

- Calm, organised and a strong communicator within a team

- Reliable, punctual and committed to weekend availability

- Experience with specialty coffee and extremely fast paced environments (desirable)

- RSA (NSW) (desirable)

- Own transport — the Megalong Valley is not served by public transport (desirable)
