Mermaid Beach

About the role

The Successful Physio Applicant is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy at the Mermaid Plaza Medical Centre and for owning that site's clinical outcomes and growth. The role carries genuine autonomy: the Physio manages their own caseload and diary, works closely with the in-house GPs, and acts as the practice's clinical face at Mermaid Plaza Medical Centre. One day per week is spent at the Tamborine Mountain Longevity Physio Studio, where the Physio contributes to specialised clinical exercise classes, gym based rehab, clinical work and longevity assessments, receives direct mentoring, and stays connected. The position offers a structured pathway toward a senior or site-lead role on a commission and retainer.

Key responsibilities

- Manage a full, independent caseload across musculoskeletal, chronic disease, CTP, WorkCover and private presentations

- Conduct thorough assessments, form clinical diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans

- Deliver productive consulting combined with gym-based and active rehabilitation

- Opportunity to run Bone Mineral Density, Longevity and Reconditioning classes.

- Provide services under GP chronic disease management care plans in line with Medicare requirements

- Send timely written reports back to referring GPs as required by Medicare and good practice

- Participate in case discussions with the in-house GPs and contribute to shared care

- Manage CTP and WorkCover claims in accordance with insurer and regulator requirements

- Take ownership of the site's clinical outcomes, patient experience, rebooking and growth

- Maintain accurate, timely and secure clinical records in line with AHPRA, Physiotherapy Board of Australia and privacy obligations

About you

- Bachelor or Master degree in physiotherapy

- General registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA), with no conditions that would restrict the role

- Two to five years of post-graduate clinical experience, including running an independent caseload

- Experience managing chronic and complex presentations, including patients referred under GP care plans

- Sound independent clinical judgement, including knowing when to escalate or refer

- Confidence prescribing and progressing gym-based and active rehabilitation

- Strong communication skills with patients, GPs, insurers and case managers

- An ownership mindset and the ability to self-manage a diary

- Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between sites

- Current general registration as a physiotherapist with AHPRA, Medicare provider number, professional indemnity insurance, satisfactory national police check, current first aid and CPR certificates

About us

Longevity Physio Studio is a practice that keeps meetings to what is genuinely useful. Communication is direct and practical, and clinicians are trusted to manage their own time. The studio (at Mt Tamborine where the successful applicant will work 1 day/week) runs a range of niche clinical exercise classes and provides longevity assessments for patients seeking a structured evaluation of strength, function and healthy-ageing markers.
