About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Java Integration Engineer to design, develop and deliver secure, scalable APIs, microservices and enterprise integration solutions.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with engineering, product and business teams to design technical solutions, develop high-quality software and improve integration practices.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and implement integrations between enterprise systems using appropriate integration patterns.
Develop secure, scalable, maintainable and well-tested software.
Contribute to solution design, technical planning, coding, testing, deployment and CI/CD activities.
Implement authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
Participate in code reviews and continuously improve engineering practices.
Collaborate with product, engineering and business stakeholders to define technical requirements.
Support architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers where required.

Required Skills and Experience




Robust hands-on experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Experience with system integration, API design and enterprise application connectivity.
Understanding of integration patterns, including synchronous and asynchronous communication.
Experience working across the software development lifecycle, including testing and deployment.
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile workplace.
Experience with Apache Camel or similar integration frameworks.
Familiarity with messaging technologies, message queues, pub/sub and event-driven architectures.
Exposure to SOAP services, ESBs, data modelling, stored procedures and staging tables.
Knowledge of AWS services, particularly messaging and streaming technologies.
Exposure to React or Angular, GraphQL or Node.js.
Familiarity with build and automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Bamboo or Ant.
Experience with Linux scripting and file-transfer protocols such as FTP/SFTP.
Experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical design decisions.
