Go beyond. Leave a legacy.

Arafura is developing the Nolans Project, Australia’s first ore-to-oxide integrated processing facility in the Northern Territory, a greenfield operation producing the rare earths that will enable the global energy transition and future facing technologies.

We are moving into delivery and construction, and we are looking for a Senior Advisor reporting to our Manager Health, Safety, Security and Risk to provide independent health and safety assurance across the Project, and to help shape the systems our operation will run on.

Nolans is being built under an EPCM model with a small Owner’s Team. Our EPCM and its contractors do the work and are responsible for the safety of their own people. The Owner’s Team on site provides assurance over them. This role sits outside the project line and independently checks that both are working, so project leadership and the Board can rely on them.

What you’ll deliver
A risk-based program of independent verification, with time in the field, not just on the file

An assessment of our EPCM’s safety system against our Risk Management Plan and the Regulations
Findings followed through until the fix is confirmed, not just marked closed
Transparent reporting to the Manager Health, Safety, Security and Risk, project leadership and the Board
Health and safety systems and processes for operations that are fit for purpose and ready when we need them

What you’ll bring
8+ years’ experience in health and safety in construction or mining, including assurance or audit independent of the delivery line
Experience designing or implementing a health and safety management system for an operating site
Robust knowledge of work health and safety legislation and duties, including Northern Territory requirements and the duties of a Principal Contractor and PCBU
A lead auditor qualification or a robust assurance background
Able to build constructive working relationships with key stakeholders.

If this role sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
