Excavator Operator – Cleveland, QLD

Immediate Start | Monday–Friday | 10–12 Hour Days | Civil Construction

CMTL Group is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for an immediate start on a civil construction project in Cleveland, QLD.

The successful candidate will be responsible for basement excavation works, along with assisting the ground crew with general labouring duties when required.

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on operator who is confident working in confined excavation areas and is happy to jump out of the machine to assist the team when needed.

Scope of Work
Operating excavators for basement excavation works
Detailed excavation and working around existing structures
Loading out excavated materials and spoil
Assisting with general site labouring duties
Preparing walls for shotcrete application
Assisting ground crews with site preparation and clean-up
Loading and moving materials as required
Completing daily pre-start checks and maintaining safe operating practices





Essential Requirements
Proven experience operating excavators within civil construction
Previous basement excavation experience highly regarded
Relevant Excavator RII/ticket
Construction White Card
Current Driver's Licence
Robust understanding of excavation safety and working around ground crews
Willingness to assist with manual labouring duties when not operating
Reliable transport to Cleveland
Available for an immediate start
Ability to work 10–12 hour days, Monday to Friday

About You We're looking for an experienced, reliable Excavator Operator who takes pride in their work and is comfortable working as part of a hands-on civil construction crew.

This is not a machine-only position. The successful applicant must be willing to assist with general labouring tasks, including preparing walls for shotcrete and loading materials when required.
