The Winey Cow is a much-loved brunch restaurant in Main Beach QLD, known for big flavours, warm service and a team that genuinely has each other's backs. We're looking for a qualified Chef or Cook to join our kitchen on a full time basis.

You'll have a genuine love of cooking and of the industry, and you'll enjoy inspiring the people around you to do their best. This is a very hands-on role, so attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude are a must.

THE ROLE

Full time, 38 hours per week with two days off per week.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Food preparation and cooking to order during service, private parties and functions
Preparing, seasoning and cooking all dishes on our menu
Working pans, grills and fryers efficiently
Checking the quality of raw ingredients and weighing ingredients
Assisting with staff training and mentoring
Assisting with menu design, implementation and costing (food and labour)




Assisting with stock control and monitoring wastage
Staff rosters
Supplier liaison
Following hygienic food handling practices, with a high emphasis on food hygiene
Ensuring protected work practices, with a focus on workplace health and safety

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred
At least 2–3 years' experience in commercial kitchens post qualification
HACCP experience (essential)
A genuine passion for food and a positive, team-first attitude

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
$79,000 – $90,000 per year + super, depending on experience
