Hunter Gateway Motel is a large, well-established motel in Rutherford with a range of room types. We’re looking for an experienced Front Office Supervisor to run the front desk on their shifts and help keep standards consistent across the team.

You’ll be the senior person at reception: looking after guests, making sure check-ins, check-outs and reservations run smoothly, and supporting other front desk staff. You’ll report to the Head of Operations.

About the role
Casual or permanent part time, with flexibility for the right person
Rotating roster [days/shifts: e.g. including weekends]
Based in Rutherford, NSW. You must already live in Australia and have full working rights

Key responsibilities
Run the front desk on your shifts: check-ins, check-outs, guest enquiries and special requests
Process and manage reservations accurately in the property management system
Handle phone calls, emails and walk-in enquiries professionally
Resolve guest issues and complaints, and escalate to the Head of Operations when needed
Support, guide and train front desk staff, and set the standard for service and presentation
Keep records, handovers and cash/payment reconciliations accurate




Work with housekeeping and maintenance so rooms are ready on time and issues are fixed quickly

Reservation and billing accuracy
Clear shift handovers and a well-run front desk
A positive, reliable team atmosphere

What we’re looking for
At least 3 years of front desk experience in a motel, hotel or other accommodation, including time in a senior, shift lead or supervisor role
Solid, hands-on experience with property management systems (Protel preferred)
Confidence making decisions on shift and handling difficult guest situations calmly
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Valuable time management and attention to detail
Reliable, and able to work a rotating roster that includes weekends
