Bermagui Beach Hotel is a food-led, community-driven venue set right by the ocean, where the bistro and kitchen sit at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a Sous Chef who truly understands that great service starts with excellent food, beverage and a outstanding location.

The ideal candidate brings solid operational kitchen knowledge, with an eye for detail, consistency, and the guest experience. You’ll play a hands-on role in the operational running of the kitchen, mentoring the team, matched with the flare to deliver exceptional food.

ABOUT THE ROLE The role of the Sous Chef is to support the Head Chef in leading Pub kitchen team.
Support planning menus, estimating food/labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Lead service, ensuring consistency and high-quality food standards
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Working as an integral part of a close-knit management team
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Uphold and maintain our food hygiene safety standards
Mentor Kitchen team members and contribution to training and development of staff
Lead,



collaborate and foster quality relationships between the kitchen and front of house teams

ABOUT YOU

As a driven, passionate and focused individual you will possess the following attributes and skills:
Minimum 2 years Sous Chef experience in a high-volume food led venue
Committed to the best standards of food preparation and service
Experience with seasonal fresh food
Knowledge and experience of kitchen food safety systems
Can work under pressure and is an excellent team player
Excellent leadership and communication skills
