The Acute Care Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Mental Health Clinician (Emergency Department) to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity
The position will be based in Mackay as part of the Acute Care Team. The position will be based in the Mackay Emergency Department. The position will provide advanced level Intake/triage, assessment, and crisis management functions as part of the Mackay Division of Mental Health Acute Care Team.
The position will work a wide-ranging roster 7 days a week with RDO accrual. The position works both morning and afternoon shifts and may be required to work night shifts in the future.
About the Team
The Acute Care Team is the first point of contact to public mental health services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Team will undertake triage and may facilitate the referral of the consumer to a more appropriate internal and/or external service such as a community mental health team, an alcohol and drug service or primary health care.
