A manufacturing business is looking for a seasoned Health & Safety Consultant to come on board for a six-month contract.
Based on site at a mid-sized industrial facility, you'll take a practical, boots-on-the-ground approach, collaborating with plant management, operational teams, and shop floor employees to build a stronger safety culture, keep the site compliant, and embed ongoing improvement throughout the operation.
Versatile work arrangements will be considered (work either 4 or 5 days a week).
You'll thrive in this position if you're a self-directed safety practitioner who connects easily with people at every level of the business and can deliver sensible, risk-focused outcomes in a busy production setting.What you'll be doing:Carrying out audits, inspections, and risk assessments across production, warehouse, and yard areas, pinpointing hazards and proposing practical fixesHelping to write, review, and roll out safety policies, procedures,



and safe work instructions that meet current legislation and standardsLooking into incidents, near-misses, and reported hazards, then producing root cause analyses and action plans to prevent recurrenceRunning inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training for staff, contractors, and site visitorsKeeping the site aligned with WHS/OHS requirements and acting as the point of contact for regulators when neededWorking alongside engineering and operations on machine guarding, ergonomics, and process safety specific to heavy equipment manufacturingMeasuring and reporting on safety performance, including lead and lag indicators, and providing regular updates to site leadershipContributing to emergency readiness, including response procedures and drillsPromoting a proactive safety mindset by encouraging staff involvement and open hazard reporting
