Client Manager - Business Services (Brisbane)Run your own portfolio of SMB clients in a Fortitude Valley firm, with offshore support taking care of the prep so your time goes on review, advice and client contact.About The RoleThis is a public practice Client Manager role in a Brisbane firm of around 60 people, part of a multi-business group covering bookkeeping, financial advice, lending and property.
You will own a portfolio of small and medium business clients end to end, with offshore support handling preparation so your day is review, client contact and advice.What You Will Be DoingOwning a portfolio of SMB clients as their primary point of contactPreparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and BAS for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and SMSFsDelivering monthly and quarterly management accounts and walking clients through what they meanProviding guidance beyond compliance, including budgeting, forecasting and cashflowLeading year end and planning conversations, including tax planning and structuringReviewing the work of intermediate and junior accountants and giving feedback that develops themActing as the technical backstop for the bookkeeping team when a job outgrows themWorking daily with the offshore team,



setting the brief and reviewing what comes backIdentifying where a client needs another part of the group, such as lending or wealth, and making the introductionWhat We Are Looking ForCA or CPA qualifiedAt least 8 years in public practice, including recent Australian experienceComfortable across companies, trusts, partnerships and sole tradersConfident holding a client relationship without a manager in the roomDesirable: Division 7A and small business CGT in practice, and experience reviewing or mentoring othersOffshore support on every portfolio2 days WFH & flexible schedule, plus Finish Early FridaysReferral pathways into the wider group, so you always have something to offer when a client needs more than accountingOverseas qualified accountants with Australian practice experience are welcomeStrong, measured culture so keep staff engagedBonuses for billings over targetIf you are a Client Manager level accountant who wants your own client portfolio, real support underneath you and the chance to be the advisor clients call before they make a decision, this is worth a conversation.
