Junior Accounts Payable Officer – Construction

Homes & Granny Flats is a growing residential construction business delivering homes, granny flats and modular building solutions.
We're looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with some accounts experience who is looking to develop their skills in a fast-moving construction environment.
You'll work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, project teams and the finance team, gaining valuable experience across accounts payable, job costing, contracts, variations and month-end processes.
About the role
Processing and managing Accounts Payable
Reviewing supplier and subcontractor invoices and reconciliations
Checking invoices against approved contracts and variations
Allocating expenses and invoices to the correct HGF jobs
Entering and maintaining job budgets in Xero and Buildertrend
Assisting with supplier, subcontractor and day-labour claims
Preparing payment vouchers and collating invoices for approval
Assisting with month-end accruals and journal entries
Maintaining accurate invoice, payment and financial records




Assisting with supplier account applications
Supporting payroll tax and other monthly statutory requirements
Assisting with Accounts Receivable invoicing and collections when needed
Helping maintain accurate contract and job-costing information
About you
Starting out in their accounting or finance career
Ideally has 1–2 years' accounts or administration experience
Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
Highly organised and pays close attention to detail
Confident using Excel and accounting systems
A good communicator who is comfortable dealing with suppliers and subcontractors
Reliable, proactive and keen to learn
Interested in developing a career within the construction industry
Full-time position with a growing construction business
