We are seeking a motivated Immigration Lawyer with 2–4 years' post-qualification experience to join our growing team.Working directly with our Principal, an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law, you will have the prospect to develop your expertise through hands‐on involvement in complex cases, with close mentorship and meaningful responsibility.
You will join a collaborative, fully paperless practice that values high-quality legal work, professional development and a supportive working environment.Our practice focuses on complex immigration matters, including merits review and judicial review, visa refusals and cancellations on character grounds, immigration detention, PIC ****, health‐related visa issues and other challenging cases requiring careful legal analysis and strategic advocacy.Duties and Key Responsibilities:Providing legal guidance, drafting and preparing relevant legal documentation, and negotiating on clients' behalf across all matters pertaining to immigration and migration law.Meeting with clients to assess their immigration situation and visa requirements, then advising on and pursuing the most appropriate legal course of action or migration pathwayBuilding cases for the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), Federal Circuit and Family Court, or other relevant authorities by gathering evidence, conducting legal research, coordinating witnesses, and issuing formal notices of court or tribunal proceedingsAppearing on behalf of clients before courts, ART,



and the Department of Home Affairs in contested immigration and migration mattersOverseeing visa and migration matters by drafting visa applications, legal submissions, and other relevant legal documents concerning the relocation of skilled workers or family members to AustraliaExamining and critically assessing relevant legislations and supporting materials in connection with visa applications and migration‐related mattersCompiling and lodging visa applications across a range of categories — including partner, skilled, employer-sponsored, protection visas, and citizenship applicationsAdvising clients on migration legislation, immigration policy, character and health obligations, sponsor duties, employer compliance requirements, and related areas of immigration lawWhat We Are Looking ForAdmitted as a lawyer in Australia with at least 2 years post qualification experience in immigration lawHolds at least a relevant Bachelor law degree (or higher)Admitted to NSW Supreme Court and has a current practising certificateFluency in a language other than English would be highly regarded, in particular ChineseSkills Required:Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a teamExceptional attention to detail and excellent client-facing communication skillsTech‐fluent and comfortable in a paperless, digital workflowAn existing client base will be highly regarded but is not essentialWhat We OfferStructured mentorship and career development under an Accredited SpecialistExposure to high‐value and challenging immigration matters beyond standard employer‐sponsored and skilled migration visasA supportive, modern workplace culture with genuine flexibility as your career progressesCompetitive annual base salary package: $85,000- $100,000 per annum plus superannuation (based on experience)Consideration of performance‐based bonuses and commission structures for candidates who demonstrate strong client engagement, business development ability or contribute to firm revenue growth
