We're seeking an experienced Medical & Travel Insurance Claims Consultant to join our high-performing Travel Claims team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a claims professional who combines strong technical expertise with a customer-first mindset and enjoys working in an environment focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and delivering exceptional outcomes.
As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you'll play a key role in assessing travel and medical-related insurance claims, leveraging sound judgement, analytical thinking, and modern claims practices to deliver fair, efficient, and customer-centric decisions.
About the Role
Reporting to the Claims Team Leader, Travel, you will be responsible for the accurate, fair, and timely assessment of travel insurance claims across a broad range of claim categories, including medical claims.
You'll work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless claims experience while maintaining compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
You'll also contribute to process optimisation, capability development, and operational excellence initiatives that support the ongoing evolution of the claims function.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and manage a broad range of travel and medical insurance claims in accordance with policy coverage and company guidelines
Deliver outstanding customer service through clear, empathetic, and professional communication
Make informed decisions on complex, high-value, and non-routine claims
Work collaboratively with Claims, Teleclaims,



Medical Assistance, and other internal teams
Support continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives that drive better customer and business outcomes
Contribute to team capability through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
Maintain strong quality, compliance, and regulatory standards
Utilise digital tools, customer insights, and data-informed decision-making to support effective claim outcomes
Support business objectives through efficient claim management and achievement of team performance targets
Insurance & Claims Expertise
Previous experience assessing insurance claims, ideally within travel, medical, health, or general insurance
Robust ability to interpret policy wording and apply coverage accurately
Experience managing complex and high-value claims
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of compliance, governance, and risk requirements
Communication & Stakeholder Management
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers and stakeholders
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities
Ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently
