Mechanical Trade Assistants - multiple locationsJob Type: Temporary position | Full time positionJob DescriptionMotor Mechanic / Mechanical Trade Assistant (Heavy Diesel & Light Stream) Sector: Public Sector Work Type: Full-Time (Initial 3-5 months)Locations Ivanhoe, VIC - Pay $***** Pakenham, VIC - Pay $*****Frankston, VIC - Pay $***** About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter to join our public sector client's Fleet & Operations team.In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a diverse fleet of assets-ranging from heavy diesel plant and trucks through to commercial mowers and small engine equipment.
This position plays a critical operational role in keeping downtime to a minimum while ensuring all vehicles and machinery meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesFleet Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine servicing, diagnostic troubleshooting, and complex mechanical repairs on heavy diesel vehicles, plant, light commercial vehicles, and small plant equipment.Fault Diagnosis & Hydraulics: Conduct computer diagnostics, hydraulic servicing, structural welding, and minor fabrication work.Breakdown & Operational Support: Assist with emergency breakdown call-outs as required to ensure core community services remain operational.Parts & Workshop Management:
