Junior Lawyer – Litigation, Family & Criminal LawThe successful candidate will assist with and progressively take responsibility for a broad range of legal work across family law, criminal law, civil and commercial litigation, employment disputes, debt recovery and general legal matters.
You will work closely with the Principal Solicitor and Senior Associate and gain exposure to matters from initial client conferences through to preparation, negotiation, court proceedings and finalisation.Key responsibilitiesDrafting affidavits, Statements of Claim, Defences, Cross-Claims, applications and other court documentsPreparing Consent Orders, Short Minutes of Order and other family law documentsDrafting legal correspondence, letters of demand, settlement offers and client adviceReviewing and analysing briefs of evidence, affidavits, financial documents, police material and other evidencePreparing subpoenas and responding to subpoenas and notices to producePreparing briefs and instructions to counselAssisting with interlocutory applications and contested proceedingsConducting legal research and preparing case summaries and legal adviceManaging electronic court filing and procedural requirementsLiaising with courts, registries, barristers, solicitors, police and government departmentsAbout youBe admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia and hold, or be eligible to obtain,
