Objective:The Mechanical Technician plays a key role in the maintenance, and repair of wind turbines at site level.
This includes inspecting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical and hydraulic issues, as well as completing scheduled maintenance and ensuring all components operate safely and efficiently.
The role involves fitting and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate or repair turbine equipment, supporting both mechanical and electrical completions, and maintaining compliance with industry and site standards.
Success in this position requires a robust technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to ensure the reliable performance of the wind turbines throughout their lifecycle.
This role will be a travel based role across many Wind Farms throughout Australia.Job Tasks and Duties:Interpreting diagrams, drawings,specifications and plans to determine suitable material and sequence of operationsInspect the exterior and physical integrity of wind turbine towersClimb wind turbine towers to inspect or repair wind turbine equipmentPerform routine maintenance on wind turbinesTest and troubleshoot mechanical, and hydraulic components and systemsMeasuring and marking out materials for fabricationCutting, grinding,



and shaping composite materialsReplace worn or malfunctioning componentsCollect turbine data for testing or research and analysisService underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systemsMay erect machines and equipment on-siteEnsure all work is performed in accordance with the organisation's associated policies and proceduresExperience required:AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma including at least two years employment experience or minimum 3 years employment experience may substitute for qualification.Job DetailsFull-Time minimum 38 hours per weekSalary: $80,000 – $120,000 + superWe are AuroraWe are passionate about driving the energy transition forward.
