Xavier College is seeking a dedicated Education Support Officer (ESO) - Curriculum for our Gawler Belt (7-12) campus.
As an ESO, you will provide classroom support to teachers and students, helping to create an inclusive learning environment while contributing to the Catholic identity, Salesian ethos and mission of the College.
Commencing November ****, this replacement, part time contract position is offered from 12 November **** until 31 January ****.
This role is worked Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 3.00pm, across a 40-week school year.
Commencement date is negotiable with the suitable candidate.
As ESO – Curriculum, you will:
Assist students individually and in small groups to support their learning, engagement and participationUnder teacher supervision, create engaging learning materials, provide direct student support, and contribute to College activities with student involvementSupervise and care for students with formally identified additional needs in accordance with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL)Using applied personal knowledge, suggest modifications to educational programs to meet specific student learning needsAssist with identifying student learning or behaviour challengesAssist teachers with student supervision during excursions, sports activities, school events and yard assist, as requiredBuild positive relationships with students, families,



and the College communityAssist students with additional needs, including personal care, if required

What you need to be successful
A Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable roleConfidence and proficiency to assist students across literacy, numeracy and other various subjectsBe an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and a proven ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with students, teachers, leaders and the wider College communityBe reliable, fully available for the advertised hours of work and ultimately a 'team player' with a 'can do' attitudeYou will be approachable and proactive, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the College community
