At Red Union Support Hub, our Industrial Advocates run live workplace disputes for members every day: unfair dismissal, general protections, disciplinary and misconduct matters, pay and classification disputes, and workplace bullying claims.We're looking for a Senior IR Advisor to join the team in Brisbane, take on our more complex matters and help lift the standard of the team around you.What You'll DoRun a caseload of complex and escalated matters end to end, from first contact through to resolutionAdvise members on disciplinary processes, performance management, classification and underpayment, termination and post-employment obligationsInterpret and apply enterprise agreements, modern awards and the Fair Work Act to member circumstances, including where the position is contestedPrepare correspondence to employers, submissions and supporting material for Fair Work Commission matters, and represent members in conciliationsWork with our in-house solicitors on matters that elevate, and make the call on when a matter needs legal involvementProvide technical guidance to IR Advisors, review their advice and correspondence on harder matters, and act as a sounding board for the teamIdentify patterns across matters (recurring employers, award interpretation issues, systemic underpayments) and feed them back to the wider businessKeep clear file notes and case records so matters progress without gapsWhat We're Looking ForAt least 5 years' experience in industrial relations, employee relations or HR, with a track record of running contested matters yourself (employer association, in-house,



consultancy or advisory background all welcome)Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements, and confidence applying them without needing to check with someone firstExperience preparing for and appearing in Fair Work Commission conciliationsSound judgement on escalation, risk and when to hold a position versus settleStrong written and verbal communication, with the ability to put a clear position to an employer and defend itAbility to guide and support less experienced advisors without taking their matters off themGenuine commitment to fairness at workRelevant tertiary qualifications in IR, HR, employment law or a related field are well regarded, though we're more interested in what you can do than what you've studied.Why Join UsReal matters, real outcomes.
