At the heart of the hotel sits Julio's Italian Restaurant, housed within the beautifully restored **** Walsh Family residence.
Rich in character and history, Julio's has become a destination dining venue renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and authentic Italian-inspired cuisine.
Whether it's boutique coffee, à la carte breakfast, a relaxed lunch, family dinner, or special occasion celebration, Julio's offers guests a memorable dining experience centred around quality ingredients, genuine hospitality, and a menu featuring Italian cicchetti, handcrafted pastas, and hearty mains.
Your Day-to-Day
As a Cook, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality food experiences across Julio's Italian Restaurant, room service, and hotel functions.
Working as part of a supportive culinary team, you will take pride in preparing dishes to a consistently high standard while maintaining an organised, efficient, and safe kitchen workplace.
Key responsibilities include:




Preparing and presenting quality dishes in line with Julio's and IHG standards
Taking ownership of your workstation, ensuring supplies, stock levels, and equipment are well maintained
Maintaining exceptional hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards at all times
Assisting with food preparation and service across restaurant, room service, and banqueting operations
Supporting kitchen operations through stock rotation, waste minimisation, and organisation
Assisting with dishwashing and other kitchen duties when required
Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen and hotel team
Taking on additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support a successful service
You will also contribute to the wider Holiday Inn culture by helping create an environment where both guests and colleagues feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering quality food and exceptional guest experiences.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Commercial Cookery qualification (preferred)
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a commercial kitchen, hotel, or restaurant environment




Great attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP and food safety procedures
A passion for quality food and creating memorable guest experiences
You will also:
Be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays across a seven-day roster
Have unrestricted Australian working rights with no limitations on hours
Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to support your team wherever needed
