6-Month Contract | Major Automated Distribution | Greenfield Project | Immediate StartYour new company Working with a global leader in automated intralogistics and warehouse automation to recruit multiple PLC / Automation Commissioning Engineers for a large-scale automated distribution facility currently entering the commissioning phase.
A highly experienced international project team is already in office and requires additional commissioning resources to support the next stage of testing, integration and ramp-up activities.Your new role Working within a large commissioning team, you will support the testing and commissioning of automated material handling equipment, conveyors, drives, sensors and control systems within a live project environment.This is a hands-on commissioning role rather than a pure PLC programming position.
The focus is on fault-finding, testing, validation, troubleshooting and ensuring automation equipment operates as designed.
The project team will provide onboarding and training on the client's systems before engineers become fully operational.Key responsibilitiesCommission automated material handling and conveyor systemsPerform sensor calibration and adjustmentComplete field device and network commissioningUndertake cabinet IO and field IO testingDiagnose electrical and automation faultsVerify automation systems against PLC configurations and project specificationsTroubleshoot existing Siemens PLC systems and identify root causes of faultsSupport standalone testing and system integration activitiesAssist with WCS integration and material flow testingWork closely with automation engineers, electricians and mechanical teams to resolve commissioning issuesAccurately document and report commissioning findingsWhat you'll need to succeed Experience commissioning industrial automation systems.
Ideally, you will have worked in an automated warehousing, material handling, intralogistics or distribution automation environment.
