Position Descriptor:
We are seeking a skilled Physics and Mathematics teacher to join the Science and Mathematics team at Norwood International High School.
NIHS is an IB World School of around 1,600 students in Years 7 to 12, located in Adelaide's eastern suburbs.
Students in Years 7 to 10 undertake the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme, and students in Years 11 and 12 study either the SACE or the IB Diploma Programme.
The school has a long tradition of academic excellence and a diverse, international community.
This position involves teaching Science and Mathematics from Year 7 to Year 12, including senior Physics.
All teachers are expected to collaborate with their peers to deliver engaging, future-focused teaching that promotes student agency and curiosity.
The successful applicant will:
Design purposeful learning, using technology where it adds value
Set transparent learning outcomes, use explicit strategies to check for understanding and give students timely feedback
Seek student feedback and adjust their teaching in response
Build intellectual stretch into assessment tasks
Differentiate learning for Aboriginal learners, EALD students, gifted students, students with disability and international students,



including reasonable adjustments and One Plans
Build a positive, inclusive classroom culture where every student belongs and can contribute
Run safe, well-planned practical work in the laboratory
Contribute to the co-curricular program, including science and mathematics competitions, the Science and Engineering Challenge and partnerships with universities and industry
