Your chance: You'll be joining an established Australian business with a national presence and a finance function currently going through a period of change and development.
You'll work closely with the Finance Manager as part of a collaborative team, where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, contribute ideas and help improve existing processes.
This isn't a purely transactional Accounts Receivable role.
You'll be responsible for managing a large debtor ledger, with a strong focus on collections, payment allocations, daily reconciliations and resolving outstanding account enquiries.
You'll also work closely with different teams across the business, helping to resolve discrepancies, manage overdue accounts and support month-end reporting.
It's a role that will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative and is confident managing their own workload without needing extensive training.
This is a permanent opportunity offering flexible start and finish times and, once you're established in the role, the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
What you'll be doing: You'll be managing a workload where accuracy, organisation and clear communication are essential.
You'll regularly liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to investigate enquiries, resolve discrepancies and ensure payments are received and recorded correctly.
Your responsibilities will include: Managing a large debtor ledger, including payment receipting, allocations and account reconciliations.
Proactively following up overdue accounts through phone calls and emails, including managing payment arrangements and outstanding balances.
Reviewing aged debtor reports, identifying priority accounts and maintaining consistent follow-up.
Completing daily bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
Managing the Finance inbox and responding to billing,

payment and account enquiries.
Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve account issues.
Preparing debtor reports and assisting with month-end reconciliations and ad hoc reporting.
Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and supporting the wider finance team as needed.
Who you are: Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience in an Accounts Receivable, Collections or Credit Control role, preferably within a high-volume environment.
You'll need to be confident managing your own workload and making decisions independently.
They're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, enjoys solving problems and knows how to balance following up overdue payments with maintaining positive relationships.
You'll also bring: Strong experience in end-to-end Accounts Receivable, collections and debtor management.
Confidence managing overdue accounts and having professional conversations about outstanding payments.
Excellent reconciliation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience using accounting or ERP systems, along with intermediate Excel skills.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different teams.
A proactive, practical approach and the ability to identify issues and work towards solutions.
Experience within the NDIS sector would be beneficial but is not essential.
Candidates with experience in similar industries are also encouraged to apply.

Please note: Applicants must be currently based in Brisbane, Australia, and hold unrestricted Australian working rights with no limitations on working hours.
