Ashe Munro Recruitment is partnering with a statewide education provider to recruit an experienced WHS Consultant/Advisor for an immediate start, initially for 1-2 months with the potential to extend.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on WHS professional who enjoys working with people, providing practical advice and making a positive difference to workplace safety.

Based in Leederville, you'll join a supportive team during a period of growth and change, helping schools navigate workplace health and safety requirements and contributing to a safer working environment for their staff.

About the Role

Working across a diverse network of schools, you'll provide practical, day-to-day WHS advice and support, with a particular focus on incident management, stakeholder engagement and helping schools meet their safety obligations.

This is a wide-ranging, hands-on role where you'll need to be comfortable working independently, using your initiative and adapting to different situations. The organisation is continuing to develop its WHS systems and processes, so there is also an opportunity to contribute ideas and support ongoing improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing and triaging workplace incidents, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
- Providing practical WHS advice and guidance to schools and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting incident investigations and assisting with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Working collaboratively with school leaders and staff to identify risks and improve safety practices.
- Providing advice on a range of workplace hazards, including psychosocial risks, occupational violence and general workplace safety.
- Supporting the ongoing improvement of WHS processes, systems and governance.
- Visiting schools when required to provide on-site WHS support.

About You

We're looking for an experienced WHS Consultant/Advisor who can hit the ground running and confidently manage day-to-day safety matters.

You'll bring sound technical knowledge, but just as importantly, you'll have excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to engage with people from different backgrounds.

Ideally, you'll offer:

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher.
- Previous experience in a WHS Consultant, Advisor or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of incident management, risk assessment and WHS legislative requirements.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative, approachable style, with the ability to influence and coach rather than simply enforce compliance.
- Flexibility and initiative, particularly when working within developing systems and processes.

Experience within education, local government or another people-focused environment would be highly regarded.

An understanding of psychosocial hazards, occupational violence, hazardous chemicals or workshop environments would also be beneficial.

What's on Offer?

- Immediate start with an initial 1-2 month assignment and potential extension.
- Competitive hourly rate reflective of your experience.
- Full-time hours, based in Leederville.
- A varied role supporting workplace safety across a large education network.
- A collaborative, people-focused environment where your advice and experience will be valued.
- Opportunity to contribute to a WHS function that is continuing to grow and develop.

The role may involve occasional regional travel, with a fleet vehicle and associated travel expenses provided.

You will need to hold, or be willing to promptly obtain, a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
