A great 6-month opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established government infrastructure team and will be responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of electrical capital works projects across Western Australia.This role offers the chance to manage projects that directly contribute to the improvement and maintenance of critical transport and electrical infrastructure assets.
Your new role
As Project Manager - Electrical, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 20–40 electrical capital works projects at varying stages of delivery. Projects are generally handed over at concept stage (approximately 15% design) and require end-to-end management through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover.Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and external service providers, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with required standards.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of electrical infrastructure projects from design through to handover.
- Coordinate design development, reviews and approval milestones.
- Develop project plans, budgets, forecasts and delivery schedules.
- Manage procurement activities, contractor quotations and contract administration.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Oversee construction delivery, compliance, project close-out and asset handover.





What you'll need to succeed

- Demonstrated experience managing capital works or infrastructure projects.
- Strong contract administration and contractor management experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a complex delivery environment.
- Experience coordinating consultants, designers and construction contractors.
- Strong commercial acumen, including management of quotations, variations, project expenditure and contractor performance.
- Ability to review project documentation and drive projects through design, procurement, construction and handover phases.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Technical understanding of electrical infrastructure, utilities, construction or related engineering environments.

Desirable:

- Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Electrical Trade Certificate and/or Electrical Licence.
- Experience working within government, transport or infrastructure sectors.
