Management Accountant | FIFO from Cairns | 12-Month Contract

An exciting opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a leading resources operation based outside Cloncurry on a 12-month temporary contract.
Working closely with the site's Commercial and Finance teams, you’ll play a key role in cost reporting, budgeting, forecasting and providing meaningful financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:

- Month-end accounting and management reporting
- Cost reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Analysing performance and investigating budget variances
- Supporting monthly cost reviews with operational managers
- Assisting with financial modelling, capital expenditure and fixed assets
- Supporting statutory reporting, including BAS, FBT and QLD royalties
- Extracting and analysing financial data
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting and finance processes

What you'll need to succeed
You’ll ideally bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce




- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems, with Pronto highly regarded
- CA, CPA or CIMA qualifications, or working towards them, advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and the confidence to work with operational stakeholders
- Power Query or Power BI experience would be beneficial
