We are seeking a motivated and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an estimator with strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for structural steel and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and installation projects.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities and project documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Calculate material quantities and assess labour, fabrication, installation, equipment, subcontractor and other project costs as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain, evaluate and negotiate competitive quotations.
- Prepare and review tender submissions, quotations and supporting cost documentation within required deadlines.
- Work closely with project managers,



engineers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates accurately reflect project scope, specifications and commercial requirements.
- Identify potential cost risks, value engineering opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Monitor changes in material prices, supplier costs and industry conditions to maintain accurate and competitive pricing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, systems and procedures.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

- A minimum of 5 years' estimating experience in the structural steel, mechanical or piping industries.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and project documentation.
- Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for engineering, fabrication or construction projects.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of project costing and cost control.
- Familiarity with estimating software, Microsoft Excel and other relevant industry tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet tender deadlines in a quick-paced project environment.
