HVAC Solutions NQ is looking for an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our growing team.
We are after someone who can work independently, take ownership of their jobs and complete work to a high standard without constant supervision . The role will primarily involve current commercial air-conditioning installations, cold room installations, refrigeration work and project-based HVAC construction .
You’ll be working across a range of commercial projects in Cairns and surrounding areas, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility as the business continues to grow.
What the role involves:
- New commercial air-conditioning installations
- Cold room and refrigeration installations
- Split, ducted, package and VRV/VRF system installations
- Refrigeration pipework, brazing, pressure testing and evacuation
- Installation and commissioning of HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
- Working alongside builders, electricians and other trades
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site presentation
- Assisting with and supervising apprentices where required
- Taking ownership of jobs from installation through to completion
About you:
- Relevant Queensland trade licences
- Able to work independently without supervision
- Confident reading mechanical drawings and plans
- Strong refrigeration pipework and brazing skills
- Reliable, organised and able to manage your own workload
- Strong attention to detail
- Takes pride in producing quality work
- Works safely and professionally on site
Highly regarded:
- Cold room installation experience
- VRV/VRF installation experience
- Controls and electrical fault-finding experience
- Experience leading apprentices or small installation teams
- Electrical qualifications or interest in becoming dual trade
