About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

Are you an experienced Speech Pathologist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in community health? This senior clinical role sits at the forefront of Community Health Care, supporting a diverse range of service delivery programs, including the Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP), and working with vulnerable and complex populations across the community.

In this position, you will provide high-quality assessment, intervention and care coordination to help clients achieve improved health outcomes, maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team,

you will play a key role in supporting individuals to access appropriate care pathways and services while contributing to the prevention of avoidable hospital admissions.

As the sole Senior Speech Pathologist within Community Health Care, you will provide skilled leadership and governance oversight for the Speech Pathology service. You will support and supervise junior Speech Pathology staff, provide specialist clinical advice and consultation to Community Nursing and Allied Health teams, and lead the management of complex clinical presentations. The role offers the opportunity to influence multidisciplinary care planning, promote safe and evidence-based practice, and drive service development, quality improvement initiatives and workforce capability across the service.

This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about delivering person-centred care, enjoys working autonomously while collaborating across disciplines, and is committed to advancing clinical excellence within community-based healthcare settings.
