Bloke In A Bar (blokeinabar.com) is one of Australia's leading sports podcasts, focused on the NRL and hosted by Denan Kemp. Bringing together rugby league discussion, interviews and entertainment, we connect with a passionate community of fans.
About the role
We're looking for a capable, reliable Podcast Producer & Studio Coordinator to take ownership of our podcast production and keep our studio operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role combining sound recording, audio editing, technical operations, sponsor coordination and office administration. You'll work closely with Denan, our guests and commercial partners, managing the practical and technical requirements of producing and publishing our content.
For a candidate with videography skills, the role can also include filming and video production.
We need an independent self-starter who takes ownership and gets things done without constant direction. You'll think on your feet, anticipate what's needed and solve problems quickly and calmly - whether that's troubleshooting during recording, managing a last-minute change or keeping production on schedule.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate recording schedules, prepare the studio, support hosts and guests, and manage episodes from preparation through to publication
Set up and operate microphones, audio recording equipment and production software. Monitor sound quality and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Edit audio, complete quality checks, prepare episode information and publish content across our channels
Keep equipment maintained, the studio organised, and recordings and production files securely stored and backed up
Liaise with sponsors and internal stakeholders,
organise advertising materials, track commitments and ensure agreed inclusions are delivered accurately and on time
Manage bookings, calendars, correspondence, production records and general office administrative tasks supporting the podcast and wider business
Identify practical ways to improve production quality, workflows and efficiency
Plan and film video content, operate cameras and lighting, and edit video for podcast episodes and promotional content where applicable
About you
Previous production experience, preferably in podcasting. Relevant radio, broadcast, audio or video production experience will also be considered
Strong technical skills and the confidence to manage in-studio sound recording and audio production independently
Experience with audio editing software, publishing workflows and digital file management
Initiative, practical problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Excellent organisation, attention to detail and reliable follow-through
Professional communication skills and confidence working with hosts, guests and sponsors
A willingness to take ownership of office administration alongside production responsibilities
Integrity is essential. You will be trusted with unpublished content, confidential commercial information, equipment and significant relationships. Honesty, discretion, accountability and high ethical standards are essential
Videography and video editing skills are an advantage for the expanded role, but are not essential for the sound, editing and office administration role
An interest in the NRL and familiarity with Bloke In A Bar would be an advantage
