As a PMO Lead, you will support a high-profile Human Capital Management (HCM) Business Transformation Program within a large government department.

You will lead the day-to-day operations of the Program Management Office (PMO), providing strategic advice and hands-on support to ensure effective program governance, assurance, risk management, reporting and delivery oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the PMO team, setting priorities, coaching staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely program support.

Establish, maintain and continuously improve program governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, scheduling and reporting processes.

Oversee program assurance, quality management, risk and issue registers, approvals and compliance with relevant departmental assurance requirements.

Provide strategic and tactical advice to the Program Executive Director, maintaining alignment between the program's business case, strategic objectives, milestones and benefits realisation.

Build strong relationships with executive sponsors, workstream leads,



suppliers and departmental stakeholders to manage competing priorities, resolve issues and support effective program delivery.

Key Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience managing a PMO team within a large, multi-year technology-enabled transformation program.

Demonstrated expertise in program governance, quality assurance, risk and issue management, executive reporting and program controls.

Exceptional communication, presentation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and manage competing stakeholder interests.

Ability to move between strategic problem-solving and hands-on development and review of program documentation, reports and presentations.

Proven experience leading employees, contractors and suppliers in a fast-paced workplace, with strong Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365 and PowerPoint skills.
