Our staff are committed to building positive relationships, with the motivation to pursue excellence. Our dedicated and professional teachers maintain an environment which supports each child every day to achieve their personal best. As a collective, teachers look to employ evidence‑based strategies to maximise the effect they have on student learning. The Role

Mount Hawthorn PS is ideally seeking to establish a pool of highly relational, resilient and improvement‑focused Deputy Principals to join our Executive Team.

This is a complex Level 3 leadership role ideally for leaders with a growth mindset, strong instructional leadership and the capacity to build trust and lead improvement. Suitable applicants would have direct leadership responsibility for a phase of the school comprising up to 350 students,

providing leadership to staff, students and families and ensuring high‑quality teaching, learning, wellbeing and support. At Mount Hawthorn PS we are committed to strengthening consistent, evidence‑based approaches to teaching and learning. Our school is continuing its journey towards a shared approach to explicit teaching and high‑impact teaching practices, with a strong focus on building teacher capability and improving outcomes for all students.

Working closely with the Principal and Executive Team, the Deputy Principal would contribute to the implementation of the School Business Plan, informed by our recent Public School Review and the Department’s strategic directions.

Ideally, we are seeking leaders who can inspire and develop a passionate and capable staff, lead curriculum improvement, use evidence to inform decision‑making, and communicate openly and honestly with families.
