Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice, offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical or Scientific Officer to join our Histology Department at Macquarie Park in a 12-month maternity relief role . You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

Responsibilities

- Perform routine histology procedures including microtomy (tissue sectioning) and embedding and preparing high-quality slides for staining and analysis, including special stains.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Adhering to standard laboratory protocols and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.




- Collaborating with the team to ensure effective workflow and high-quality results.
- Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as they arise

We are looking for the following:

- Graduated with a Medical Science Degree or recognised AIMS equivalent.
- Minimum 2 year’s experience in a histology/anatomy lab or highly knowledgeable in histological processes, histological instruments and laboratory equipment
- Open to working Full-time Monday to Friday hours from 8am to 4pm.
- Excellent attention to detail and good time management skills.
- Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
