About us

Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services ranging from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, and health services.

About the programmes

The ITM provides immediate, time limited placements (up to 13 weeks) where children experience a home-like environment and are cared for by a small, capable and nurturing care team. This model is a one-on-one setting for children that is holistic, individualized, and takes a team-based approach to the complex impacts of abuse, neglect, separation from families and significant others along with other vulnerabilities.

The ITM Model supports children aged from newborn to 17years in suitable safe and secure, home-like environments while foster care, kinship relative care or other placement options are identified.

About the role





We are currently seeking permanent part-time staff and a pool of casual staff who will initially provide care support and guidance for children and young person in line with the ITM.

The successful candidate will be part of a team that will be on a largely week rotating roster. Hours of work are flexible and may include some sleep overs.

Essential skills/knowledge

- Completed or working towards Cert IV in youth work or similar field
- Prepared to work flexible working hours including weekends and sleep overs
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Children’s Check
- Experience in Out of Home Care
- TCI or trauma informed training
- Ability to work as a part of a team and independently

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
