At Metcash, we champion the independent businesses that keep local communities thriving. We’re looking for a commercially astute Commercial Manager to help shape the future of our WA Food business, drive profitable growth and strengthen our independent retail network.

n

Working closely with the State Leadership team, you’ll bring a strong retail lens to business decisions — connecting commercial strategy, property opportunities, retailer partnerships and P&L; performance to deliver sustainable results.

In this Role, You Will:

n

n
- Drive profitable growth: Identify opportunities to grow revenue, improve margins and strengthen the performance of our wholesale business and independent retail network.
n
- Make the deals count: Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, rebates and retailer arrangements that deliver sustainable, mutually beneficial outcomes.
n
- Bring a retail lens: Understand retail P&Ls;,



assess commercial models and evaluate property and investment opportunities to support network growth and retailer success.
n
- Challenge the thinking: Turn data and business insights into clear recommendations, challenge assumptions and influence decisions that deliver better commercial outcomes.
n
- Shape strategy and performance: Partner with State leaders on business planning, budgets, forecasting and performance improvement, balancing commercial opportunity with risk and governance.
n
- Build strong partnerships: Work across Retail, Property, Finance, Supply Chain and other teams to unlock opportunities and turn strategy into action.

You’ll bring:

n

n
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of delivering revenue growth, profitability and business improvement.
n
- Experience in commercial retail, commercial property, revenue growth management or a related commercial discipline.
n
- A solid understanding of retail economics, P&L; performance, commercial models and deal structuring.
n
- Confidence negotiating commercial agreements and influencing retailers and senior stakeholders.
n
- The ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, challenge assumptions constructively and make sound decisions in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
n
- A results-driven, independent mindset,



balanced with a collaborative approach and a genuine interest in helping independent businesses succeed.
