Senior Structural Engineer – Commercial Buildings | Melbourne | Building Structures | Major Projects - 150 to 130k
Lead the structural design of some of Melbourne’s most significant commercial building projects.
RCMT is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a highly regarded structural engineering consultancy in Melbourne.
This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to take greater ownership of projects, work closely with clients and architects, and play a key role in delivering complex commercial building projects.
The Opportunity You will join an established Building Structures team delivering projects across commercial, residential, mixed-use and high-rise developments.
Working alongside experienced structural engineers, you will take responsibility for structural design and project delivery while having the opportunity to develop your technical, project management and client-facing skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead structural design across major commercial building projects
- Manage structural engineering projects from concept through to construction
- Undertake analysis, design and documentation of concrete and steel structures
- Work closely with architects, builders and multidisciplinary project teams
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and graduates
- Review engineering designs, calculations and documentation
- Attend client and project meetings and represent the consultancy professionally
- Assist with project planning, resourcing and delivery
- Contribute to business development and maintaining strong client relationships
What We're Looking For We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with strong commercial building experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Ideally, you will have:
- 7+ years' structural engineering experience
- Strong experience within an Australian structural engineering consultancy
- A proven background delivering commercial building projects
- Strong technical capability across reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Experience with structural analysis and design software
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and building regulations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to lead projects and work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
- A proactive approach to mentoring and developing junior engineers
CPEng / NER or a pathway towards professional registration will be highly regarded.
