Smith Plant is a road maintenance and equipment hire service provider based in Lismore. We have a diverse fleet of trucks and earth moving equipment along with a modern workshop and depot.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Fitter / Fleet Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at our Lismore NSW depot. The role is a mix of office work managing the fleet and in the workshop conducting services and maintenance.
What you'll be doing
- Ordering service and wear parts.
- Planning, managing and conducting services on trucks and earth moving equipment.
- Attending to emergency breakdown call outs
- Maintaining companies asset management system including all documentation and cost tracking.
- Organising and allocating sub contractor fitters for specialised work and during high work loads.
- Booking and managing heavy vehicle registrations and inspections.
- Preparing equipment for project and hire work.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a fitter / mechanic, with hands-on experience working on trucks and earth moving equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in fleet management or the interest to develop these skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and work under the managing director.
- Be able to prioritise then adapt to last minute changes as the day progresses.
- HR Driver's Licence required.
- Be a qualified heavy equipment fitter / truck mechanic.
