About the role

Working as part of our team at Terrey Hills Boarding Kennels & Cattery, you will provide care for dogs and cats in a small, family-owned business on Sydney's Northern Beaches. This is an active, physically demanding role involving cleaning, routine care, and animal handling. Work takes place indoors and outdoors in varying weather, and you will need to maintain a steady, efficient pace while following safe work practices and giving each animal appropriate care.

Key responsibilities

- Cleaning kennels, cat pens, exercise yards and shared areas, including removing animal waste, hosing and disinfecting.

- Moving dogs safely between their kennels and exercise yards.

- Preparing and providing food and fresh water.

- Following individual care instructions and assisting with medication as trained and directed.

- Watching for changes in animals' health, behaviour or appetite and promptly reporting concerns.

- Keeping care records accurate and helping with daily arrivals and departures.

- Handling large, strong dogs on a lead, including dogs weighing over 50 kg, following handling procedures and seeking assistance when needed.

About you

- Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to complete all aspects of the role.

- Confidence around dogs and cats,



including large dogs.

- Careful attention to cleaning, care instructions and animal behaviour.

- Clear communication and a willingness to ask questions or report problems.

- The ability to follow procedures, accept feedback and work cooperatively.

- A responsible approach to animal welfare and workplace safety.

- Able to perform essential duties safely, including being on your feet for much of the shift, walking between enclosures, repeated bending, crouching and reaching, and using cleaning equipment.

- Experience in animal care is welcome but is not essential. Training will be provided.
