Help! Dos the Legend moved to Townsville and left a sparky-shaped hole in our crew

Dos was quick, productive, and could turn his hand to pretty much anything. We’re happy for him, but the smoko table’s too quiet and someone has to take his spot. Could it be you?

Who are we?
We’re a family-owned electrical business based in Cairns, and we’ve built our name on quality work, doing things safely, and a down-to-earth crew who enjoy coming to work. We run two brands:

- CEI (Crichton Electrical & Instrumentation) does our commercial and industrial work, on everything from retail, water treatment plants and fuel terminals

- CEA Energy & Air looks after air-con and residential, from switchboard upgrades to keeping North Queensland cool

The role
We’re after a qualified electrician who loves variety and is happy working across both service and project work. One day you might be doing maintenance or sorting out a breakdown, and the next you could be installing new gear or knee-deep in a project. Some weeks you’ll move between sites and tasks, and other weeks you’ll see one job through from start to finish.

What you’ll get stuck into

- Electrical installations, upgrades and scheduled maintenance across residential, commercial and industrial sites

- Fault-finding and breakdowns to keep essential systems running

- Testing and verifying installations so everything is safe, compliant and certified

- Project work, from rough-in through to commissioning and handover

- Keeping jobs organised and on track by updating simPRO as you go (notes, photos, test results, all of it)





- Working with a supportive crew that values good communication and looking out for each other

- Regular training sessions and toolbox meetings to sharpen your skills and stay on top of industry standards

What you need

- A current, unrestricted QLD electrical licence

- White Card, plus current LVR & CPR, because safety comes first

- A full driver’s licence and Australian Permanent Residency

- Solid experience with installs, testing and fault-finding, and the habit of isolating and testing before you touch anything

- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Bonus points (nice to have, not deal-breakers)

- ❄️ A/C tick (ARCtick refrigerant licence). The CEA side would love you

- ? Fault-finding experience, if you like a good mystery

- ⚠️ Hazardous areas (HA) ticket

- Commercial or industrial experience

- simPRO experience, EWP ticket, HRW licence
