You'll be responsible for independently managing the daily cooking and food preparation required for our sandwich menu, following our established recipes and quality standards. Our menu is straightforward, but consistency, organisation and the ability to keep up during busy service periods are essential. You'll work alongside our wider team and report directly to the Venue Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook ingredients for our sandwich menu, including chicken, bacon and other proteins.
- Operate commercial grills, ovens and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare, slice and portion bread and sandwich ingredients.
- Follow established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
- Complete daily food preparation to ensure ingredients are ready for service.
- Maintain food quality and consistency throughout busy periods.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients and minimise food waste.
- Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen.
- Complete daily kitchen opening, closing and cleaning procedures.
- Work independently and efficiently while communicating with the wider team.
About you
- Previous experience in a café,
sandwich bar, breakfast kitchen or similar commercial kitchen.
- Confident using commercial grills, ovens and food preparation equipment.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
- Able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- Willing to follow established recipes and procedures.
- Available to work Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays as rostered.
