JMS Group Australia Pty Ltd are a well-established company within the mining services industry and are seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to take on the role of Senior Accounts Manager in our dynamic team based at our office in Rockhampton.

The role requires you to have experience in an accounting/administration role with the ability to multi-task and provide support to management and other team members as required.

This is a full time role.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function. You’ll be the key link between our business managment and our external accountant, and you’ll manage our compliance obligations, including BAS lodgement. You’ll also lead and work closely with our Junior Admin Assistant to keep processes efficient and information flowing smoothly across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, supplier payments, and debtor follow-up

• Prepare and lodge quarterly (or monthly) BAS with the ATO, ensuring accuracy and on-time submission

• Liaise with our external accountant on end-of-month and end-of-financial-year reporting, reconciliations, and queries





• Complete bank, credit card, and ledger reconciliations

• Process payroll and manage superannuation and PAYG obligations

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports for management

• Delegate, guide, and support the Junior Admin Assistant, working together to improve workflows and systems

• Identify and implement process improvements across the accounts and admin function

About you

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior accounts, bookkeeping, or finance role

• Proven experience preparing and lodging BAS

• Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Accentis highly advantageous)

• Sound understanding of GST, PAYG, payroll, and superannuation requirements

• Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail

• Confident communicator who can work with external advisors and support junior team members

• Qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping (Cert IV or higher) are desirable
