Key responsibilities n

Greeting patients and managing enquiries in a friendly and professional manner.

n

Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments and managing the appointment book.

n

Registering new patients and updating patient information in the practice management system.

n

Processing Medicare claims, EFTPOS payments and private billing.

n

Managing referrals, incoming correspondence and medical records.

n

Liaising with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and external providers.

n

Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with privacy requirements.

n

Assisting with general administrative duties and keeping reception and waiting areas organised.

Basic computer skills and confidence using administrative systems.

A commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality and professional conduct.

Previous medical reception or general practice experience is highly regarded.

n

Familiarity with medical software such as Best Practice or MedicalDirector, Medicare billing and Australian healthcare procedures will be an advantage.
