Tallinga Park is seeking an experienced, motivated and reliable Foreperson to join our team and assist with the day-to-day management of our thoroughbred racing and training operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong knowledge of racehorses, proven leadership skills and a passion for the racing industry.

About the Role n

The successful applicant will play an important role in overseeing daily stable operations, supporting staff and ensuring our horses receive the highest standard of care, training and management.

Key Responsibilities n

n
Oversee daily stable operations and coordinate the day-to-day running of the stable.
n
Supervise, lead and support stable staff.
n
Monitor the health, wellbeing, feeding and general condition of horses.
n
Assist with training schedules, trackwork and race-day preparations.
n
Ensure horses are handled safely and professionally at all times.
n
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the trainer or veterinarian.
n
Maintain high standards of secure presentation, cleanliness and horse welfare.
n
Coordinate daily workloads and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
n
Communicate effectively with management, staff and veterinarians.

Maintain accurate records relating to horse care, treatments and secure operations.
n
Ensure workplace health and safety procedures are followed.
n

About You nn
Previous experience working with thoroughbred racehorses.
n
Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a racing stable.
n
Strong horsemanship and an excellent understanding of horse behaviour and welfare.
n
The ability to lead, motivate and work effectively within a team.
n
Strong organisational and communication skills.
n
A reliable, proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.
n
The ability to work flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends and race days.
n
A commitment to maintaining high standards of horse care and stable management.
