About the RoleSharp & Carter is partnering with a well-regarded, family-owned equipment hire business to find a Hire Controller for their Western suburbs branch.Our client has grown steadily into Victoria over the past few years and competes with the big national hire names on service and reliability.
They are now building out the branch team and are looking to add more than one person over time.
This is a hands-on coordination role at the centre of the branch, connecting Account Managers, the yard, the workshop, transport providers and customers.They want a sharp, systems-minded operator who can keep orders moving and stay composed when priorities change.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor the orders inbox and process bookings sent through by Account ManagersManage hire and off-hire requests by phone, email and in personPrepare quotes, contracts, delivery dockets and return docketsMaintain accurate customer and hire records in the hire management systemCoordinate transport providers for deliveries and pickupsManage the daily run sheet for equipment going out,



returning or awaiting collectionLiaise with the yard and workshop to confirm equipment is ready for dispatchSupport account setups, credit checks and customer paymentsKeep customers updated and resolve issues quicklyAssist Business Development Managers with quotes and pricingAbout YouExperience in equipment hire, construction, civil, logistics, transport or fleet coordinationStrong customer service skills and a confident phone mannerGood systems capability, with Syrinx or similar hire software highly regardedHigh attention to detail with bookings, pricing and paperworkAbility to juggle competing priorities and follow throughCalm, solutions-focused approach under pressureCurrent Australian driver's licenceWhite Card, or willingness to obtain oneHRW, Yellow Card, EWP, Forklift or First Aid licences are beneficial but not essentialWhat's on OfferA key role in a growing, family-owned businessModern fleet and well-supported systemsTraining and licence support as the business growsA supportive team culture with variety every dayGenuine scope to grow as the branch expands
