Their approach centres on flexibility and genuine partnership with customers to ensure long-term business relationships.THE ROLEThe Compliance Officer is responsible for the achievement of business objectives and for managing aspects of transport compliance within New South Wales, including:Monitoring, managing and reporting on developments including changes in legislative and regulatory obligationsEngaging with and advising the business on effective management of its compliance obligations and performance improvementManaging NHVR Performance-Based Standards (PBS) vehicle and combination approvals, accreditation requirements, and ongoing compliance obligationsImplementation and maintenance of compliance framework and proceduresEngagement with regulatorsSupport and encourage the organisation in identifying and self-reporting on compliance issues, including supporting the investigation into such incidents, remediation plans, and continuous improvementBased at Lidcombe, with regular travel required across NSW operations and customer sites, this is a core part of the roleRESPONSIBILITIESConduct all incident reporting and manage corrective actionsManage NHVAS compliance for NSW operationsManage NHVR PBS vehicle and combination compliance, including accreditation and contractor complianceMonitor and manage Mass Management, Basic Fatigue Management (BFM),



and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)Conduct audits on logbooks, maintenance sheets, run sheets, etc.Carry out safety audits and conduct toolbox talks with driversManage and monitor maintenance sheetsFacilitate necessary training for fleet management and maintenanceAct as the day-to-day point of contact for operational teams on heavy vehicle compliance mattersManage all accidents, incidents, and liaise with insurance and legal officers within NSWESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSGenuine, hands-on experience in heavy vehicle compliance, NHVR, CoR, and ideally PBS, a general WHS background alone will not be considered sufficient for this roleUnderstanding of road legislation, NHVAS, and fatigue management regulationsMinimum 2 years' experience in a compliance, safety, or operational auditing role within transport or logisticsStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detailOrganisational and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent customer focusHigh regard for safe working practicesValid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across NSWADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSKnowledge of the Transport and Logistics industryCompliance officer experienceHC or MC licence preferredUnderstanding of road legislation, NHVAS, and fatigue management regulationsWHAT'S ON OFFER$95,000 + superPermanent, full-time position based in LidcombeJoin a well-established, genuinely Australian-owned logistics business with over 30 years in the industryA compliance function that's valued strategically, not treated as a box-ticking exercise
