We are seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic first year Apprentice Horticulturist to join our Parks and Gardens team.This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, has an interest in plants, gardens and the workplace and is keen to develop practical skills while completing their Horticulture apprenticeship.Working alongside our experienced Parks and Gardens team, you will gain hands on experience in the maintenance and care of Council's parks, gardens and public spaces.DUTIES OF THE ROLEParks and gardens maintenanceMowing and general grounds maintenanceGardening and landscapingPlanting and pruningTree and vegetation managementWeed and pest managementIrrigation maintenanceLearning to safely operate and care for equipment and machineryMaintaining high standards of presentation across public spacesABOUT YOUHas a genuine interest in Horticulture, gardening and working outdoorsGood communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skillsEnthusiastic and willing to learnAbility to undertake heavy manual work in all weather conditionsReliable,
