The Opportunity
A large, global retail business is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its high-performing finance team.
Operating across an extensive store and customer network in Australia and New Zealand, the business is a recognised market leader.
This role will play a key part in supporting commercial performance, specifically across their Marketing and Digital divisions.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver insight-led analysis, support promotional initiatives and drive improved financial outcomes.
Following a recent resignation, they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
The role is initially offered as a 6-month temp-to-perm opportunity, although candidates with a 4-week notice period are also encouraged to apply.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering detailed analysis across sales, margins and operating costs, identifying trends and opportunities to improve business performance
Preparing management reporting and performance analysis, providing insights into key variances, business drivers and financial results
Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support commercial initiatives, evaluate business opportunities and inform decision-making
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, providing greater visibility over financial performance
Developing financial models and business cases to assess the impact of key initiatives and support strategic decisions
Supporting month-end processes including management reporting and financial analysis
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
Minimum 3 + years' experience within accounting, ideally currently working in an industry role within a large corporate, ideally across the retail, wholesale or a similar viewed as favourable
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce, with CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools advantageous
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across finance, sales and operations
Solid analytical capability with ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations beyond the numbers
High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
