Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking experienced, motivated and adaptable Registered Nurses to join our Medical and Surgical Wards on a permanent part-time relief roster basis.
Mater Hospital Springfield (MHS) is a contemporary and innovative 80-bed facility incorporating the latest digital technologies, community wellness initiatives, and patient- and family-centered models of care.
As Mater's first new public hospital in over 60 years, opening in early ****, MHS serves the growing Greater Springfield region with a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, perioperative, day oncology, ICU, maternity, and emergency services — caring for over 200,000 patients annually

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be a vital member of the nursing team, delivering exceptional care across medical, rehabilitation, and surgical settings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments using a structured approachImplementing planned evidence-based nursing interventions within your scope of practiceActing as a patient advocate by ensuring informed consent prior to proceduresPromoting a safe, secure,



and respectful environment for patients and staffMaintaining strict adherence to Infection Control policies and organisational proceduresEnsuring confidentiality of corporate and patient informationAchieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of careDemonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures relevant to medical, rehabilitation, and surgical patientsCollaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional careIntegrating quality and risk management strategies into daily practiceMaintaining current clinical knowledge and skills to support ongoing professional development
About you
The ideal candidate will have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
Minimum 2 Years experience in Surgical and Medical ward nursingProven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamExcellent communication and time management skillsAdaptable and motivated to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
