ROLE – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
SALARY - $150,000 - $175,000 per annum, dependent on experience
TYPE – Permanent
My client specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke machinery and equipment.
They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
At least 5-8 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, ideally within machinery, mining equipment or heavy industry
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Highly skilled with 3D CAD software, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar
Experience designing bespoke machinery, heavy equipment, pumps, skids or industrial systems
Strong understanding of Australian engineering standards and relevant design codes
Proven experience managing the full design lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to manufacture and commissioning
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, machining and assembly
Experienced with engineering calculations, design verification, testing and validation
Able to lead projects,



manage technical requirements and coordinate the work of other engineers
Confident mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance
Able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver projects to deadlines
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
Leading the design and development of bespoke machinery and equipment from concept through to manufacture
Producing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
Managing projects, design deliverables and technical requirements
Ensuring designs comply with Australian standards and relevant engineering codes
Working closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and fit for purpose
Overseeing design reviews, calculations, testing and validation
Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and coordinating project workloadsResolving design and manufacturing issues throughout the project lifecycle
Working autonomously within a small, multidisciplinary team on varied engineering projects
